DreamWorks’ “The Croods” passes $200 million at foreign box office

PanARMENIAN.Net - DreamWorks Animation’s 3D family film “The Croods” passed the $200 million mark at the international box office this weekend, TheWrap said.

The 3D caveman cartoon took in $34.1 million from 62 markets to raise its international total to $206.8 million. With its $125.8 million domestic haul, its global gross now stands at more than $331 million. Those numbers are good news for DreamWorks, which lost money after the misfire of its last release, "Rise of the Guardians."

"The Croods" is only the second film this year to top $300 million globally, behind Disney’s ‘Oz the Great and Powerful.” The “Wizard of Oz” prequel added $13.6 million from 57 foreign markets this weekend to raise its international total to $241.3 million. With $212.7 million in domestic ticket sales, its global total now stands at $454 million.
