Archos rolls out new line of Android smartphonesApril 20, 2013 - 14:16 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Tablet maker Archos announced a new line of unlocked Android smartphones — its first attempt at the wireless market, Mashable said. The models — Archos 35 Carbon ($99.99), Archos 50 Platinum ($219.99) and Archos 53 Platinum ($249.99) — will first launch in Europe this May. No contracts are necessary. The flagship device, the Archos 50 Platinum, comes with a 5.0 inch full black IPS display paired with a quad-core CPU at 1.2GHz and 8 mega-pixel camera. "End-users will have an experience similar to a Samsung Galaxy S3 for half the price," the company said in a press release. Meanwhile, the 53 Platinum smartphone will include a 5.3-inch screen and the 35 Carbon will come in at 3.5 inches. Each smartphone will run on Andriod 4.1.2. Jelly Bean and only support 3G. The devices come with an array of features, including Google Certification for access to Google Play, Dual SIM flexibility to manage two providers simultaneously from one phone, an IPS Screen, cloud storage and front and rear-facing cameras.
