Oscar-nommed

PanARMENIAN.Net - "Anna Karenina" star Alicia Vikander is in negotiations for the female lead in Alex Garland's robot thriller "Ex Machina," TheWrap said.

Oscar Isaac stars as a billionaire programmer who handpicks a young employee (Domhnall Gleeson) to spend a week at his remote estate and participate in a test involving his latest invention – an artificially intelligent female robot.

Vikander, who recently worked with Gleeson on "Anna Karenina," is in talks to play the highly advanced robot.

DNA Films' Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich are producing the indie movie, while Scott Rudin and Eli Bush are executive producing.

Garland, who is making his directorial debut with the project, also wrote the script.

Vikander, who broke out in the foreign-language drama "A Royal Affair," will soon be seen alongside Jeff Bridges and Julianne Moore in WB/Legendary's "The Seventh Son." The Swedish actress just wrapped the indie movie "Son of a Gun" with Ewan McGregor and Bill Condon's Dreamworks drama "The Fifth Estate," which stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Julian Assange.
