Paul McCartney kicks off tour with special concert in Brazil

PanARMENIAN.Net - Sir Paul McCartney kicked off his new tour with a special concert in Brazil, Digital Spy reported.

The 'Live and Let Die' singer performed the opening show of his 'Out There!' world tour with a concert in Belo Horizonte in front of a sold out audience of 55,000.

Last year, the group started their own petition and secured an endorsement from tens of thousands of local residents to move forward with the plans.

The petition was then delivered to the singer's London office and proved successful.

Adriana Mundo 28, who had supported the petition, said: "When we heard Paul was coming here we couldn't actually believe it. It's a dream come true for us. We've never had anything like this here before. It's such an honour for our city."

The Beatles star performed a host of his biggest hits including 'Hey Jude', 'Let It Be' and 'The Long and Winding Road'. He also performed 'Eight Days a Week', a song he has only played once in 1965 with The Beatles.

At the end of the opening show, McCartney invited the group of fans responsible for the concert on stage. Original petitioners Priscila Brito, 27, Luisa Mattos, 25, Camila Flores, 25, and Cecilia Cury, 21, joined their idol as he thanked them for their support. He also signed Flores's Beatles tattoo.

The tour will take in two further shows in Brazil before moving to North America later this month. He is then scheduled to play three European dates. However, no UK shows have been announced as of yet.
