Emily Blunt circling Johnny Depp’s “Into the Woods”![]() May 17, 2013 - 11:05 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Emily Blunt is the latest A-list name said to be nearing a deal to join Disney's big-budget adaptation of Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods, The Hollywood Reporter said. If the deal closes, the Looper star would join Johnny Depp and Meryl Streep, already confirmed for the roles of the Wolf and the Witch. The live-action adaptation is being helmed by Rob Marshall. Also said to be near a deal are Jake Gyllenhaal and Chris Pine, who would play Cinderella's Prince and Rapunzel's Prince. Blunt would play the pivotal role of the Baker's Wife, a woman placed under a spell of barrenness by her sorceress neighbor (Streep). When the spell is lifted, she suddenly finds herself pregnant -- but in the dark musical, happily ever after is only the beginning. Like most parts in Into the Woods, the Baker's Wife requires a lot of singing. And while she's not known for her singing -- though she did date Canadian crooner Michael Buble for three years -- Blunt is a capable vocalist, and performed an entire song in UK TV drama Gideon's Daughter. Ara Aivazian said Azerbaijan continues the traditions of Turkey after seizing territories and forced Armenians out. The creative crew of the Public TV had chosen 13-year-old Malena as a participant of this year's contest. She called on others to also suspend their accounts over the companies’ failure to tackle hate speech. Penderecki was known for his film scores, including for William Friedkin’s “The Exorcist”, Stanley Kubrick’s “The Shining”. Partner news |
