Armenian, Azeri FMs reaffirm commitment to peace in region

PanARMENIAN.Net - Kraków hosted a meeting between Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers Edward Nalbandian and Elmar Mammadyarov, with Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group Igor Popov, Jacques Faure and Ian Kelly and Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk present.

Possible ways to advance peaceful settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict were in the focus of the discussion, with Armenian and Azeri ministers reaffirming commitment to promotion of peace in the region.

The mediators, in turn, stressed the need to refrain from measures and statements that might escalate tensions and harm the peace process. Confidence-building measures that will foster the establishment of atmosphere necessary for a peace agreement were further discussed.
