Iran to unveil new defense products in a special ceremony![]() May 22, 2013 - 10:47 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Iran plans to unveil five new defensive achievements in a special ceremony on Wednesday, May 22, the Iranian defense ministry announced in a statement, according to Fars news agency. The defense ministry said that new products, including weapons and personnel combat equipments, will go on display in a special ceremony in Tehran on the verge of Khordad 3 (May 24), marking the anniversary of the liberation of Khorramshahr city. Senior Iranian military commanders and officials will participate in the event, the statement added. Earlier, the Iranian Defense Ministry announced that it will supply large numbers of different types of missiles to the country's armed forces and unveil different defense projects in coming days. The ministry also started mass-production of a highly mobile home-made air-defense system. The production line of the new system, Herz (Protector) 9, was inaugurated in a special ceremony attended by Vahidi on the occasion of Khorramshahr liberation anniversary. Addressing the ceremony, Vahidi said that the system which has been designed and developed by Iranian experts at the Defense Industries Organization is a "sophisticated smart air-defense system and is capable of detecting, identifying and intercepting low-altitude targets through automatic controls". He said that the system enjoys high mobility and night operation capability and can be connected to the country's integrated air-defense network. Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
