Novatek CEO Mikhelson's daughter named Russia’s richest heiress

PanARMENIAN.Net - Twenty-one-year-old Viktoria Mikhelson, daughter of gas producer Novatek's CEO Leonid Mikhelson, has topped the list of Russia’s richest heirs and heiresses, with an inheritance estimated at $13.74 billion, according to a new rating published by CEO magazine on Thursday, May 30, RIA Novosti said.

Yusuf Alekperov, 23, the only heir of the largest shareholder in oil firm LUKoil, has ceded the top spot he held last year and now ranks second with an inheritance capital of $12.03 billion.

Seventeen-year-old Polina Galitskaya, the only daughter of Sergei Galitsky who owns the Magnit retail chain and Krasnodar football club in south Russia, comes third on the list with an inheritance of $8.26 billion.

Galitskaya is finishing secondary school this summer and intends to enroll at Kuban State University’s economics faculty, according to CEO magazine.

Irina and Alexander Vekselberg, the children of Renova Group owner Viktor Vekselberg, hold fourth and fifth places with a total capital of almost $16 billion.

The children of Roman Abramovich, the owner of Chelsea Football Club, have dropped in the ratings again. In 2007, Abramovich’s five heirs held 23rd-27th places, but in 2013 his (now seven) heirs have fallen to 60th-66th places, with their aggregate capital declining from $21 billion to $11.5 billion.
