When two neighborhood girls go missing, a police detective (Gyllenhaal) locates a suspect (Paul Dano), but is unable to make him confess. When the police are forced to let him go, one of the girls’ parents (Jackman) takes matters into his own hands and kidnaps the suspect with the goal of making him reveal where the girls are. The film, from Warner Bros. and Alcon Entertainment, was directed by Denis Villeneuve. It also stars Terrence Howard and Viola Davis. Prisoners is slated to hit theaters Sept. 20.
