Acer rolls out Iconia W3, Liquid S1 tabletsJune 3, 2013 - 16:21 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Acer has announced two new tablets at Computex in Taiwan today (June 3), Digital Spy said. The firm unveiled the world's first 8-inch Windows 8 tablet in the shape of the Iconia W3, and added the Liquid S1 hybrid device to its range. The Iconia W3 comes with Microsoft's latest operating system on board and is powered by an Intel dual-core 1.8GHz Atom Z2760 processor. Measuring in at 0.45 inches thick and 8.1 inches on the screen, the tablet's 1280 x 800 display is capable of 720p playback and its front and rear camera offer 2-megapixel shooting. The device comes with Office pre-installed at no additional cost, and a full-sized keyboard dock is available to purchase separately. Billed as Acer's first phablet device, the Liquid 1 is powered by a quad-core 1.5GHz processor and comes running the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box. The hybrid also features a 5.7-inch HD 1280 x 720 display, an 8-megapixel camera on the rear, a 2-megapixel snapper on the front and Acer's Float user interface pre-installed. The W3 will be available in 32GB and 64GB variants later this month with prices starting at around £280. The Liquid 1 is scheduled for Q3 and is expected to cost in the region of £300.
