Dilijan International School to open in September

PanARMENIAN.Net - Dilijan International School (DIS) board of trustees held a meeting, with school project initiator, British architect Tim Flynn briefing those present on the construction works.

The new members of the board, head of the board of directs of RD Group Gagik Adibelyan and vice president of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Manfred Schepers were introduced to the meeting participants.

DIS board of trustees appointed Colin Jenkins who earlier assumed the post of Wales-based UWC Atlantic College director as school headmaster.

The school will open in September, 2014, with 650 students from at least 60 countries to be enrolled.

“We hope to pass the next test for joining the UWC. We hope the school will be renamed UWC Dilijan,” project founder, investment banker Ruben Vardanyan’s wife Veronika Zonabend said.

DIS membership in United World Colleges (UWC) will enable the school to enroll students due to the UWC national committee network.
