The slates are now available starting at £139 for an ad-supported version, £20 less than its launch price, Digital Spy said. The ad-free edition has also had the same amount shaved off its price tag and is now available at £149. Amazon is offering a similar discount on the 32GB models of the device, which now start at £159, but the larger Kindle Fire HD 8.9 remains at the same price point of £229. Barnes & Noble recently reduced the price of its Kindle Fire-rivalling Nook HD tablet to £99 for a limited time only. The Kindle Fire tablets are available to purchase via Amazon's website.
