Featuring a 7-inch HD screen with a 1920 x 1200 resolution (323 ppi), the device also packs an Adreno 320 GPU, a 1.5GHz snapdragon processor, 5-megapixel rear-facing and 1.2-megapixel front-facing cameras. Best Buy is currently taking pre-orders for it with the 16 GB and 32 GB SKUS costing $229 and $269 respectively, Neowin says.

Furthermore, it also runs the newly announced Android 4.3, the tablet marks Google's 2013 refresh of its nexus program, delivering stock Android to enthusiast techies and fans with promised updates from Google. Android 4.3 builds on features previously revealed in 4.2, adding restricted profiles to its multi-user system, which lets parents restrict the level of access their kids can have for individual apps; it also adds Bluetooth low energy support to increase compatibility with fitness devices.

Google also revealed at its event that one in two tablets told worldwide is an Android tablet. With the multitude of manufacturers creating Android tablets, the Nexus 7 impressively accounts for more than 10 percent of total sales.
