PanARMENIAN.Net - Lightweight Rustam “The Mongoose” Nugaev (25-6, 15 KOs) scored an impressive fifth round KO over Jose “El Loco” Hernandez (14-5-1, 6 KOs) on Friday, Aug 9 night at the Morongo Casino Resort in Cabazon, California. Nugaev was too strong for Hernandez, finally battering him to a knee in round five for the count, Fightnews.com reported.

Undefeated jr. lightweight Jose “The Sniper” Pedraza moved to 14-0 with 9 KOs after a hard fought ten round unanimous decision over Gabriel “The Ghost” Tolmajyan (13-3-1, 3 KOs). Pedraza, a highly touted 2008 Olympian for Puerto Rico, compiled a 97-93 win on all cards to claim the USBA title.

Super featherweight Emannuel Tagoe (22-1, 9 KOs) scored a ninth round TKO over Gerardo Robles (16-12, 7 KOs) in a bout for the vacant IBF Inter-Continental title. Robles’ corner threw in the towel after round nine.

Unbeaten super bantamweight Roy Tapia (8-0-1, 3 KOs) scored a third round KO over Eliezer Agosto (2-3, 2 KOs). Two knockdowns in round three. Time was 2:15.
