Director's Cut of Nirvana's “Heart Shaped Box” unveiled (video) August 22, 2013 - 18:56 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - To celebrate their 20th anniversary, the surviving members of Nirvana are releasing a re-issue of the band's final studio album "In Utero", and they are kicking off the festivities by unveiling a director's cut of their 1993 music video "Heart Shaped Box" by Anton Corbijn. Although the clip already appears on Corbijn's Director's Series DVD, this marks the first time it is being made available online, AceShowbiz said. What Corbijn has done with the original was not just to show more of the woman in the muscle suit with the angel wings and the girl in the white KKK robe hanging from a tree, but also offered a creepier, more eerie version. And of course, fans get to see the late frontman Kurt Cobain again, rolling around in those blooming poppy fields. Apart from the Corbijn clip, the "In Utero" deluxe re-issue, which will be released on September 24, will feature three CDs containing a fresh re-mastering of the record, Dave Grohl's first solo recording of "Marigold", the Steve Albini-produced versions of "Heart Shaped Box" and "All Apologies", plus a lot of demos, jam session recordings and previously unreleased tracks. It also includes a DVD of their legendary "Live and Loud" concert along with footage of some of their other live performances. Cobain's handwritten lyrics as well as new liner notes from director/comedian Bobcat Goldthwait also appear on the deluxe re-issue.
