Armenian soldiers were injured in Azeri sniper attack: Defense Ministry

PanARMENIAN.Net - The circumstances of an August 23 incident suggest that Armenian servicemen were wounded in an Azeri sniper attack, Defense Ministry press service reported.

On Friday, August 23, 11:30 am local time soldiers Artur Asoyan and Norayr Petrosyan were found with gunshot wounds at one of Syunik’s combat positions.

The servicemen were taken to an Agarak medical center where Petrosyan died from the wound. Artur Asoyan is out of danger.

A criminal case was instigated over the incident, with investigation under way to clarify the details.
