Google adds remote controls to Google Glass Android app

PanARMENIAN.Net - Google has updated its MyGlass app to give its Glass owners remote control, Digital Spy said.

Android users can now employ it as an alternative to the swipes, head movements and voice commands that are sometimes awkward.

The app uses its screencast feature to allow others to see what is being viewed through Google Glass UI on an Android handset.

Users are able to do the usual touches, swipes and taps via the app remotely.

However, some Glass owners have reported via Google+ that the app is not working with their device, suggesting that an update may be required.

A date is yet to be set for a general public release of Google Glass, but a recent report claimed that the device could be in Best Buy stores across the US next year.

According to earlier reports, Mercedes-Benz is exploring the possibility of introducing Google Glass integration to its vehicles.

The German automaker is testing a door-to-door navigation system that makes use of the headset by transferring additional destination information after the user has left their vehicle.

The prototype version of the service uses a cloud server to bridge the gap between an iPhone and Google Glass as Mercedes's Digital DriveStyle App navigation app is not yet available for Android.
