Tribeca nabs “Some Velvet Morning” Stanley Tucci, Alice Eve drama

PanARMENIAN.Net - Tribeca Film has acquired U.S. rights to Neil LaBute's relationship drama Some Velvet Morning, starring Stanley Tucci and Alice Eve, The Hollywood Reporter said.

Written and directed by LaBute, Some Velvet Morning centers on Fred (Tucci), who arrives on the doorstep of his beautiful young mistress, Velvet (Eve), after four years apart, claiming to have left his wife. But when she rejects his attempts at rekindling their romance, his persistence evolves into obsession -- and a dark history between the ex-lovers comes into focus.

The film -- which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year -- will be released Dec. 10 via cable and satellite VOD platforms, as well as on iTunes, Amazon, Vudu, Playstation and Google Play. It will then be released theatrically Dec. 13.

Tim Harms, Daryl Freimark, Michael Corrente, Trent Othick and David Zander are producers on the film.

I hope this is the beginning of a long association.”

The film, which had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, is full of intelligent and witty twists and turns – but then, this is Neil LaBute, and we expect such moves – and while its ‘surprise’ ending is never quite the surprise the film demands it should be (only because one knows it must be coming) the film is a solidly made affair that should intrigue buyers and other film festivals,” a review published at ScreenDaily said.
