“500 Days of Summer” scribes to adapt “Me Before You” bestseller

PanARMENIAN.Net - Scott Neustadter & Michael H. Weber have been set by MGM to adapt the Jojo Moyes best-selling novel Me Before You, Deadline said.

They will work off a draft written by the author. Pic’s being produced by Twilight Saga‘s Karen Rosenfelt.

The writers, best known for (500) Days Of Summer and The Spectacular Now, have been on a novel-adaptation tear lately, with Amor Towles’ The Rules Of Civility, John Green’s The Fault In Our Stars, and Maria Semple’s Where’d You Go, Bernadette.

Acquired by MGM in February, Me Before You is the story of a young English woman hired as the caretaker for an affluent Londoner paralyzed in an accident. Both are surprised by how the relationship blossoms. The novel has remained on the bestseller lists since being published late last year. MGM senior veep Cassidy Lange is overseeing the project on behalf of the studio.

Jojo Moyes (born 1969) is a British novelist and journalist. She is one of only a few authors to have twice won the Romantic Novel of the Year Award by the Romantic Novelists' Association and has been translated into eleven different languages.
