Google rivals to review latest proposal in EU antitrust case

PanARMENIAN.Net - Google's rivals have been given another opportunity to review the search giant's latest proposal to avoid a fine from the European Commission for allegedly breaking competition rules, PCWorld reports.

The European Commission announced on Monday, Oct 28, that it wants feedback from complainants and other relevant market participants. This so-called 'market test' will take place over the next month.

Google has been under investigation by the European Commission since November 2010 after rivals accused it of directing users of its search engine to its own services by reducing the visibility of competing websites and services. It was also accused of content-scraping and imposing contractual restrictions that prevent advertisers from moving their online campaigns to rival search engines.
