“Shining”’s “Here's Johnny” scene named scariest horror film moment (video)

PanARMENIAN.Net - A survey has found that The Shining's famous "Here's Johnny" scene is the scariest horror movie moment, Digital Spy said.

Tests discovered that the scene with Jack Nicholson at the helm increased audience heart rates by over a quarter.

Meanwhile, the scariest film overall was identified as A Nightmare on Elm Street, followed by The Exorcist in the Play.com poll.

1998's Ring, Alien and The Silence of the Lambs were also voted among the top ten scariest horror films, as well as Poltergeist, Insidious, the first Halloween film and Saw.

As part of a special screening of The Shinning, A Nightmare on Elm Street and The Exorcist, audience members were asked to detail what frightens them the most.

The response was typically spiders, snakes, ghosts, death and being buried alive.
