Monty Python surreal comedy group announce reunion

PanARMENIAN.Net - British surreal comedy group Monty Python is set to announce their big reunion. The five surviving members will give a press conference on Thursday, November 21 at London's Playhouse Theatre where "Spamalot" is playing, AceShowbiz said.

Member Eric Idle revealed that he, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones and Michael Palin, had been meeting to discuss their come back. "Python meeting this morning. Can't wait. Press Conference Thursday will apparently be live on Sky News. I'll get you the online URL," he tweeted on Tuesday.

His statement was followed by Jones' interview with BBC on the same day. "We're getting together and putting on a show - it's real," he said. "I'm quite excited about it. I hope it makes us a lot of money. I hope to be able to pay off my mortgage!"

Rumors of them getting together had been surfacing in the past decades but none is as real as this time. The members did their own separate things since disbanding, and last performed together in 1998 at the Aspen Comedy Festival.

The members, except for Graham Chapman who died of cancer in 1989 at age 48, are in their 70s. They had their first success with "Monty Python's Flying Circus" TV show and reached further fame with "Monty Python and the Holy Grail", "Monty Python's Life of Brian" and "Monty Python's The Meaning of Life".
