Joseph Gordon-Levitt rumored for Neil Gaiman's "Sandman" adaptation

PanARMENIAN.Net - Rumor has it, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is involved in the development of "Sandman" movie. Badass Digest reports that the "Looper" star is part of the comic adaptation that "Man of Steel" writer David S. Goyer has pitched to Warner Bros, AceShowbiz said.

While it's unclear what role the "Premium Rush" actor contributes to the project, report suggests he may be attached to portray the lead role, Morpheus. Although WB is "very receptive" with the idea presented by Goyer, the feature film is still in a very early stage.

There have been a couple of efforts to bring Neil Gaiman's story to either the big or small screen, but none came to fruition. "I'd rather see no Sandman movie made than a bad Sandman movie. But I feel like the time for a Sandman movie is coming soon," the author once said.

"We need someone who has the same obsession with the source material as Peter Jackson had with 'Lord of the Rings' or Sam Raimi had with 'Spider-Man'," he continued.

Gordon-Levitt was last seen in "Don Jon", which also marked his directing and screenwriting debut. He will next be seen in "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For".
