Forbes names Cumberbatch’s “Fifth Estate” Assange bio “biggest film flop”

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Fifth Estate has been named the biggest film flop of 2013, Digital Spy reveals citing Forbes magazine.

The Julian Assange biopic starring Benedict Cumberbatch achieved global box office takings of $6 million, compared to its $28m budget.

Using these figures, the WikiLeaks drama earned only 21% of the cost it took to produce.

Sylvester Stallone's Bullet to the Head and Harrison Ford's Paranoia finish in second and third place on the list.

Jason Statham project Parker sits at four, followed by Mark Wahlberg's political drama Broken City.

Ryan Reynolds action comedy RIPD charts at nine, while Selena Gomez's Getaway finishes seventh.

Disney's The Lone Ranger remake does not feature in the top ten, and has now broken even despite its poor showing at the US box office.

Forbes' list does not include additional costs for marketing, which the magazine states can equal some films' budget.
