"Anna Karenina" helmer’s new Peter Pan movie release date set

PanARMENIAN.Net - Warner Bros.' new take on the famous Peter Pan story will be released in summer 2015, AceShowbiz said.

The upcoming film is confirmed to make its debut in theaters across the country on June 26, going head to head with "Ted 2". Other June releases include tentpoles "Jurassic World" (June 12) and "The Fantastic Four" (June 19).

Joe Wright ("Anna Karenina", "Atonement" and "Hanna") is expected to direct "Peter Pan (2015)". The movie will be an origin story that finds main character Peter being taken to Neverland where he leads the Lost Boys against evil pirates. Jason Fuchs ("Ice Age: Continental Drift") writes the script.

No cast has been announced, but Javier Bardem is reportedly in negotiations to play the main baddie, pirate Captain Blackbeard.

Aside from booking a date for the Peter Pan origin movie, WB also adjusts a release schedule for "Jupiter Ascending". The sci-fi film starring Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis is moved up from July 25 to July 18, 2014, a week after "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes".
