PanARMENIAN.Net -

"The Raid 2: Berandal" gets U.S. release date. After being premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2014, the sequel to 2011's bone-crunching action flick "The Raid: Redemption" is slated to be released Stateside by Sony Pictures Classics and Stage 6 Films on March 28, AceShowbiz said.

Picking up where the first film left off after a rundown apartment building in Jakarta was conquered, the Indonesian film will follow Rama going undercover and infiltrating the ranks of a ruthless crime syndicate in the capital city of Indonesia to uncover the corruption in his own police force.

Gareth Evans is back directing and writing "Berandal". Iko Uwais returns as Rama, Yayan Ruhian who played Mad Dog, the violent criminal who challenged Rama in one last battle in the first film, returns as a new character, and Donny Alamsyah reprises his role as Rama's estranged brother.

New cast include Julie Estelle as the Hammer Girl and Cecep Arif Rahman as the Assassin. Aside from the Indonesian cast members, the flick is also supported by Japanese actors like Matsuda Ryuhei, Endo Kenichi, and Kitamura Kazuki.
