Holmes on his way back to London in "Sherlock" mini episode (video)

PanARMENIAN.Net - Fans don't have to wait any longer to keep up with what Sherlock has been doing in the last two years following his supposed death in the season 2 finale. BBC has released "Sherlock" mini episode ahead of the season 3 premiere which gives a look at the events between season 2 and 3, AceShowbiz said.

Titled "Many Happy Returns", the seven-minute prequel to season 3 teases how the title character continues getting involved in solving cases in several countries across the world. Detective Anderson, now unemployed, notices this and is convinced that Sherlock is still alive.

Det. Greg Lestrade, who denies Anderson's theory, meets John Watson to deliver a box of Sherlock's stuff, including a DVD of an uncut message Sherlock made for Watson's birthday in the past. In the video, Sherlock is pacing and whining as he tries to explain why he's missing Watson's birthday party.

"I'm sorry I'm not there at the moment. I'm very busy. However, many happy returns. Oh don't worry, I'm going to be with you again very soon," Sherlock says. A doorbell rings and when Watson leaves his couch to answer it, Sherlock winks in the video.

"Sherlock" season 3 premieres January 19, 2014 on PBS. The first episode, "The Empty Hearse", takes place two years after the devastating effects of The Reichenbach Fall. According to the official synopsis, "Dr. John Watson has got on with his life. New horizons, romance and a comforting domestic future beckon."

"But, with London under threat of a huge terrorist attack, Sherlock Holmes is about to rise from the grave with all the theatricality that comes so naturally to him. It's what his best friend wanted more than anything, but for John Watson it might well be a case of 'be careful what you wish for'!
