Guy Pearce, Robert Pattinson in “The Rover” drama trailer

PanARMENIAN.Net - The first trailer for The Rover has been unveiled, Digital Spy reported.

Starring Guy Pearce and Robert Pattinson, the film is a Western set in a dangerous near-future, against a backdrop of financial collapse.

A gang of criminals steal the car of Eric (Pearce) and, as it's his very last possession, he decides to track them down. He enlists the help of Pattinson's character, a naive and injured gang member who has been left behind.

Animal Kingdom director David Michôd penned the movie from a story co-conceived by Joel Edgerton.

Discussing his main characters, Michôd previously explained: "The basic story is really quite elemental.

"You've got a really dark, dangerous, murderous person in Guy's character, and in Rob's character you have a quite troubled and damaged, but beautiful and naïve, soul."

Argo actor Scoot McNairy also stars.

The Rover will hit cinemas this summer.
