Eva Green and Sullivan Stapleton feature in a Digital Spy exclusive behind-the-scenes featurette for 300: Rise of an Empire, the entertainment news agency said.

Read more: The clip also sees director Noam Murro and producers Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Mark Canton, Gianni Nunnari and Bernie Goldmann discussing the upcoming action sequel.

Zack Snyder describes the movie as a "companion film" rather than a straight sequel or prequel to 2007's 300.

Rise of an Empire sees Themistokles (Stapleton) lead a battle at sea to defeat the Persian navy after the death of the Spartan land army.

Rodrigo Santoro will return as Xerxes for the film, while Lena Headey is also back as Queen Gorgo of Sparta.

Eva Green, former Skins star Jack O'Connell and Hans Matheson are also among the supporting cast.

300: Rise of an Empire will open on March 7, 2014.
