Jessica Alba to join Thomas Jane in “The Veil” horrorFebruary 15, 2014 - 11:32 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Jessica Alba is in negotiations to join Thomas Jane in The Veil, the latest microbudget horror film from Jason Blum's Blumhouse, The Hollywood Reporter said. Phil Joanou is on board to direct the pic, which has a script by Robert Ben Garant, a co-writer on the Night of the Museum movies who also wrote Jessabelle for Blum. The Veil's story revolves around members of a religious cult known as Heaven's Veil who take their own lives. The truth behind what really happened remains buried deep in the memory of the sole survivor, a five-year-old girl, who returns to the compound with a documentary crew as an adult. They soon discover something that is far more terrifying than anything they could have imagined. Alba will play the documentary filmmaker who accompanies the survivor back to the compound to investigate what really happened. An April shoot is being eyed. Alba already worked with Blum on Stretch, a thriller starring Patrick Wilson and Ed Helms. She recently completed the action comedy Barely Lethal for Kyle Newman and has Sin City: A Dame to Kill For in the can. She is repped by CAA, 3 Arts Entertainment and Sloane Offer. Blum next releases Oculus, the supernatural thriller with Katee Sackhoff and Brenton Thwaites, which opens April 11.
