Nicholas Sparks novel “The Longest Ride” to get film treatmentMarch 18, 2014 - 12:54 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - “Notorious” helmer George Tillman Jr. is in negotiations to direct Fox 2000′s adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks novel “The Longest Ride”, Variety said. Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey are producing through their Temple Hill banner with Craig Bolotin adapting the script. The book’s story follows a young couple whose lives intertwine with an old man looking back on the relationship he had with a lost love. The pic is set to bow April 3, 2015. Fox 2000 acquired the novel after an aggressive bidding war last February when the studio outbid Warner Bros. and Relativity. Given the success of previous Sparks’ novels like “Safe Haven,” “The Lucky One” and “The Notebook,” Fox views this as a high priority with hopes of similar results at the box office. Besides “Notorious,” Tillman had previously worked as a producer on the “Barbershop” films and had most recently helmed “The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete.” Related links: Top stories The creative crew of the Public TV had chosen 13-year-old Malena as a participant of this year's contest.
