Anthony Mackie in to join “The Road” helmer’s “Triple Nine” cop dramaMarch 21, 2014 - 17:19 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Anthony Mackie is in negotiations to join Open Road’s cop drama “Triple Nine” which John Hillcoat is directing, according to Variety. Mackie would work opposite Casey Affleck, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kate Winslet, Aaron Paul, Gal Gadot and Teresa Palmer. Open Road recently came on as a distributor with Sierra/Affinity is producing and handling international sales. Worldview entertainment, Surefire and Sierra are financing. Hillcoat, who is directing from a script by Matt Cook, most recently helmed the crime drama “Lawless,” starring Tom Hardy and Shia LaBeouf, and also directed the 2009 adaptation of “The Road.” “Triple Nine” revolves around a group of corrupt cops who plan a major heist. The term is a police code for when an officer needs immediate assistance. Keith Redmon, Marc Butan, Bard Dorros, Anthony Katagas and Chris Woodrow are producing. Steve Golin is Executive Producing. Mackie has a busy year ahead of him.
