Based on a novel by Patricia Highsmith, the film focuses on Mortensen and Dunst as an American couple touring Athens in 1962 with Osaac as their tour guide. The fest’s closing night film will be Chris Messina’s Alex of Venice, starring Elizabeth Winstead, Messina and Don Johnson. Winstead plays an environmental lawyer, whose husband, Messina, rebels against being a stay-at-home dad. “We are delighted to offer these exceptional films by first-time directors who are best known for their work in other areas of the film world,” the San Francisco Film Society new executive director Noah Cowan said. “Championing talented artists who aren’t afraid of taking risks is at the heart of the Film Society's mission and our ongoing support of filmmakers around the world.” Related links: Top stories Paris Center Pompidou Musée National d’Art Moderne will host the screening of Sergei Parajanov’s "Triptych" on December 15.
