Tobey Maguire producing “The Red Mohawk” serial-killer dramaApril 1, 2014 - 16:18 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Tobey Maguire’s Material Pictures and producer Alexandra Milchan are developing the serial-killer drama “The Red Mohawk”, Variety said. Based on a book by Anonymous, the story centers on a murderer called The Red Mohawk who has the head of a skeleton. A French edition titled “Psycho Killer” was published in October by Sonatine Editions in Paris. Maguire and Matthew Plouffe are producing with Milchan. Anonymous also penned “The Book With No Name,” “The Eye of the Moon,” “The Devil’s Graveyard” and “The Book of Death” — a series centered on the Bourbon Kid, a teenager who becomes a supernatural serial killer after drinking tainted alcohol. Material Pictures’ other projects include Henrik Ruben Genz’s “Good People,” which stars James Franco; “Pawn Sacrifice,” with Ed Zwick directing Maguire and Liev Schreiber; and “Z For Zachariah,” starring Chris Pine, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Amanda Seyfried. Milchan was an exec producer on “The Wolf of Wall Street” and will produce through her Emjag Prods. the upcoming John Belushi biopic. The deal for the film rights was made by Joel Gotler at Intellectual Property Group on behalf of Julian Alexander of the LAW Agency in London.
