NBC gears up to debut "Crossbones" John Malkovich pirate dramaApril 23, 2014 - 14:23 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Summer is fast approaching and NBC is gearing up to debut its new show, "Crossbones". The network has now dropped the first trailer for the pirate drama, giving a look at John Malkovich as the legendary pirate Edward Teach a.k.a. Blackbeard, AceShowbiz said. In 1715 on the Bahamian island of New Providence, Blackbeard reigns over a rogue nation of thieves, outlaws and miscreant sailors. To gain control of this fearsome society, Tom Lowe (Richard Coyle), a British assassin, is sent to the buccaneers' haven to take down the brilliant and charismatic Blackbeard. Lowe ends up being tortured and ordered by Blackbeard to find a treasure for him. As Lowe gets to know more about Blackbeard, he can't help but admire the political ideals of Blackbeard. Hailed from "Luther" creator Neil Cross, "Crossbones" is based on Colin Woodard's book "The Republic of Pirates". It is set to premiere Friday, May 30 at 10 P.M. on NBC.
