Catherine Deneuve, Gael Garcia Bernal films added to Cannes lineup

PanARMENIAN.Net - When Thierry Frémaux announced the Official Selection lineup for the Cannes Film Festival a few weeks ago, he noted that (as usual) a handful of further titles would be added.

Today (April 30), the festival has confirmed that André Téchiné’s L’Homme Qu’on Aimait Trop will run Out of Competition. The drama stars Guillaume Canet, Catherine Deneuve and Adèle Haenel.

In the Un Certain Regard sidebar, Hungarian helmer Kornél Mundruczó’s White Dog has been given a berth. Among the Special Screenings added are Laurent Bécue-Renard’s documentary Of Men And War, Kazakh director Adilkhan Yerzhanov’s The Owners, Tony Gatlif’s Géronimo and Pablo Fendrik’s El Ardor. The latter is a Participant PanAmerica backed movie about a mysterious man who emerges from the Argentinian rainforest to rescue the kidnapped daughter of a poor farmer after mercenaries murder her father and take over his property. Jury member Gael Garcia Bernal stars with Alice Braga.

The festival runs May 14-25, Deadline reported.
