iPhone to receive revamped Skype app

PanARMENIAN.Net - Skype 5.0, a revamped version of the communication service, has been announced for Apple iPhone handsets, Digital Spy said.

The latest iteration of the chat software will launch with a raft of new features, including the ability to start group chats from the home screen and instant notification syncing between devices.

A streamlined user interface will ensure that navigation is smoother, and the application is said to perform five times faster with the update installed.

"Just like the redesigned Skype for Android app, we took the opportunity to rewrite this new version from the ground up and customise it to fit iOS best," said the Skype team in a blog post.

"The new Skype for iPhone is redesigned to put your conversation at the centre of a faster, smoother and far more integrated experience."

Skype 5.0 is expected to be released for iPhone within the coming week.
