Google unveils Android Wear smartwatch detailed demo

PanARMENIAN.Net - Google has released a video demoing Android Wear, its upcoming wearables operating system, Digital Spy reported.

The video details new smartwatch functionality that has not previously been shown. Android has been stripped out in a big way and made much simpler and easy to use for wearable devices.

The core of the experience is centred around voice, so you can interact with the watch without needing to touch the display. Then you have a home screen that strips away the complex UI found in smartphone-based Android.

Other features include Pages and Stacks, both of which try to deal with the limited space found on a watch screen. Notifications will stack on top of each other, with the most recent of the same type sitting on top.

Reply is another function that centres around voice. Read a message and reply simply by saying exactly what you want sent. We are yet to test the system, so the accuracy of the voice function is yet to be confirmed, and depends on how well Google has designed things.

Android Wear will likely make a proper appearance, alongside devices you can buy, at Google I/O on June 25.
