“Kebab & Horoscope” Karlovy Vary Film Fest black comedy trailer

PanARMENIAN.Net - Variety has been given exclusive access to the trailer for black comedy “Kebab & Horoscope” which world premieres in competition at the Karlovy Vary Intl. Film Festival, the entertainment news agency reported.

The pic is the debut feature from Polish director Grzegorz Jaroszuk, whose 2011 short film “Frozen Stories” played in Sundance and Locarno and was nominated for a European Film Award. The short won the Pianifica Prizena at Locarno and the grand jury prize at AFI Fest in Los Angeles.

“Kebab & Horoscope” centers on a group of misfits from a carpet shop who have a chance to change their lives with the help of two marketing “experts” — an ex-kebab shop worker and ex-fortune teller from a wildlife magazine.

The film was produced by Agnieszka Kurzydlo at Mental Disorder 4, whose project “Red Spider” features in the Karlovy Vary’s “Works in Progress” section.

World sales on “Kebab & Horoscope” are being handled by Jan Naszewski’s New Europe Film Sales, whose slate includes another Karlovy Vary competition film, the animated feature “Rocks in My Pockets.”
