PanARMENIAN.Net - Robbie Amell will bring the heat to "The Flash". The cousin of "Arrow" star Stephen Amell is tapped in a recurring role as Ronnie Raymond or half of the Firestorm team. He will first appear in the third episode, AceShowbiz said.
"I'm so excited to join forces with Greg Berlanti and The CW again on 'The Flash'," the actor, who previously stared on "The Tomorrow People", says of returning to the network. "Being brought into the DC Universe is a dream, I can't wait to get started."
Executive producer Greg Berlanti says, "[Producers] Geoff Johns, Andrew Kreisberg and myself designed the pilot and series to include Ronnie (a.k.a. Firestorm) - and to actually have someone with Robbie.s talent playing the role is beyond exciting. We can't wait for viewers and fans of the character to check it out."
In the comic books, high school student Ronnie and Nobel Prize-winning physicist Martin Stein were caught in a nuclear accident that allowed them to fuse into the "nuclear man" Firestorm. The same accident also transformed Barry Allen into The Flash.
"The Flash" has Grant Gustin in the titular role. It will premiere Tuesday, October 7 at 8 P.M. on The CW. Before that, the pilot will be screened at the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con on Wednesday, July 23 and the stars will make appearance during WC/DC presentation on July 26.
