Showtime releases intense trailer for

PanARMENIAN.Net - Showtime has released the first teaser for "Homeland" season 4. The short snippet doesn't shed light on the storyline, but manages to deliver the intense atmosphere as Claire Danes' Carrie Mathison and Rupert Friend's Peter Quinn try to stop terror threats in Pakistan, AceShowbiz reported.

Shots of a demonstration, Carrie mingling with local people and Mandy Patinkin's Saul Berenson frantically running are also shared. The video additionally gives a first look at Suraj Sharma as Aayan Ibrahim, "a medical school student studying in Islamabad whose path crosses with Carrie and becomes a significant person of interest for her."

In the upcoming season of the thriller series, Carrie is "doing the job she was trained to do - being a case officer in a foreign capital," showrunner Alex Gansa recently told Entertainment Weekly.

He coyly said they're toying with the possible relationship between Carrie and Quinn, adding that while Quinn cared about Carrie "so much," the question was "whether Carrie is in any kind of emotional state to be open to a romance of any kind and does Quinn realize that's the case."

Saul, who has left the CIA, still has "a central role" in season 4. Gansa explained, "Saul in the past was Carrie's boss. Now that he's in the private sector he finds himself working underneath her and at her behest, so there's a role reversal that takes place there."

"Homeland" will return with the new season this fall, but Showtime has not announced the exact date. Laila Robins joins the cast as the ambassador to Pakistan, Corey Stoll plays a station chief in Islamabad and Michael O'Keefe is cast as Deputy Chief of Mission in Islamaba
