This latest film adaptation of Hercules mythos centres on the hero uniting with King of Thrace (John Hurt) in a revenge plot against a brutal tyrant. Ratner's movie is based on Hercules: The Thracian Wars, the Radical Comics graphic novel from Steve Moore and Cris Bolsin.
