The studio has picked up the family adventure comedy with heart as a starring vehicle for Steve Carell, The Hollywood Reporter said. Carell will produce the project with his partners at Carousel Productions, Charlie Hartsock and Vance DeGeneres. The trio are partnering with Disney-based David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman of Mandeville Films. David Reynolds, who was nominated for an Oscar for co-writing Pixar's 2003 classic Finding Nemo, is penning the script. The project is based on an original idea by Reynolds, Hartsock and Degeneres.
