  Azeri shelling of Armenian border villages continues July 29, 2014 - 15:07 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Azerbaijani armed forces opened fire Monday, 28 evening in the direction of villages in Tavush province of Armenia. The Armenian side took retaliatory measures, after which the situation calmed down, the spokesman for the RA Defense Ministry, Artsrun Hovhannisyan, told PanARMENIAN.Net No casualties or injured were reported. Meanwhile, Azeri news portal Haqqin.az reported that "Armenians fired upon the settlements in Tovuz area of Azerbaijan, causing panic among the population." Azerbaijan continuously shells the border villages in Tavush province, rendering farming of the lands impossible. According to the head of Movses village Ararat Avalyan, agricultural machines came under Azeri fire a week ago. Villagers in Chinari are facing similar situation, with the community heads in Tavush province requesting the International Committee of the Red Cross to interfere. The Azeri shelling is also becoming habitual in the village of Aygepar. The village school and kindergarten are in the close fire range, at a distance of several hundred meters from the border. Recently, Ayo Fund for Armenian Relief initiated construction of a protective wall, with a fundraiser campaign launched a month ago.
