Sargsyan heading for Sochi to meet Putin

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan is departing Friday, Aug 8, for Sochi, Russia, where he will meet with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Saturday.

According to the presidential press office, the Armenian side also voiced readiness to hold a trilateral meeting attended by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to discuss the ways of peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and de-escalation of tensions caused by Azerbaijan at the line of contact.

Being confident that there is no alternative to a fair and peaceful resolution of the Karabakh conflict, Armenia always stood for conduction of high-level talks, the press release said.

The Co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group will not be present at the meetings.
