"Conjuring" writers to pen "Journey to the Center of the Earth" sequels

PanARMENIAN.Net - The "Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D" franchise continues with a third and fourth movie. "The Conjuring" writer siblings Chad and Carey Hayes have been tapped to write the scripts for the fantasy-adventure movie series in development, AceShowbiz reported.

News of "Journey 3" surfaced two years ago, following the success of 2012's "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island". At that time, Brad Peyton and co-writers/cousins Mark and Brian Gunn were all closing deals to return for the next installment. But New Line has apparently taken a different approach by hiring its horror movie writers.

According to THR, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson who toplined the second film will return to the new installments while Josh Hutcherson is expected to reprise his role as well. The two movies could be filmed back-to-back if the schedule is clear. There's no clue about the movies' plot yet.

Flynn Picture Company's Beau Flynn is back as producer, working together with Charlotte Huggins. Evan Turner will executive produce. New Line execs Sam Brown and Michael Disco are overseeing for the company.
