Microsoft tipped to roll out Windows 9 late September

PanARMENIAN.Net - Microsoft has been tipped to unveil the initial build of Windows 9 at the end of next month, Digital Spy said.

The Verge claims that the computing giant will announce the operating system codenamed 'Threshold' at a press conference on September 30.

The report also states that the operating system will be released to developers on this day, supporting previous claims about Windows 9's release date.

Windows 9 is expected to include a new mini Start Menu and the integration of Cortana, Microsoft's voice-activated personal assistant.

The Charms bar of Windows 8 is believed to have been dropped and Windows Store apps will apparently run on desktop

Microsoft has also been tipped to announce a unified version of Windows RT and Windows Phone, which is likely to be closely integrated with Windows 9.

Previous reports suggest that Microsoft could offer Windows 9 as a free upgrade to users on older operating systems in an attempt to drive adoption.
