“The Town That Dreaded Sundown” horror remake trailer (video) September 11, 2014 - 14:43 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A first trailer dropped for “The Town That Dreaded Sundown”, an upcoming Ryan Murphy and Jason Blum-produced horror flick set to premiere at Fantastic Fest this month, TheWrap reported. “Do you remember anything about the murders?” Addison Timlin asks over ominous music. She plays a young, pretty resident of Texarkana, Texas. “He was the Boogeyman, they said. Can't catch the Boogeyman. Can't kill the Boogeyman,” her grandma responds. “Before that summer, everybody would leave their doors unlocked, and after the summer if you saw a stranger you'd run the other way.” Alfonso Gomez-Rejon's sequel of sorts is based off Charles B. Pierce's identically titled 1976 scare-fest, which pit a creepy, hooded menace known as The Phantom Killer against the rural Texas town. The new story picks up decades later when the terror has returned and seems to be singling out Tilmin's character. The 23-year-old actress has previously starred alongside David Duchovny in multiple episodes of Showtime's “Californication” and with Zac Efron in “That Awkward Moment.” Gomez-Rejon previously directed episodes of Murphy's “Glee” and “American Horror Story,” but “Sundown” marks his feature debut. The film was written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and produced by Ryan Murphy Productions (“Glee,” American Horror Story”) and Blumhouse Productions (“Paranormal Activity,” “Insidious”) for MGM. After its Fantastic Fest premiere in Austin, Texas, “The Town That Dreaded Sundown” will hit theaters in October.
