PanARMENIAN.Net - Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan announced creation of a defense system to curb the enemy’s sabotage attempts at a Tuesday, Sept 16 meeting with students and professors of the Yerevan State University.

“Both in Artsakh and Armenia, we set up sabotage-preventing defense systems. While committing acts of sabotage, the enemy reached the engineering structures and could not move forward,” the Minister said.

Commenting on the civilians crossing the border, Ohanyan noted, “mountainous terrain in the area does not allow blocking every meter of the border. Some sections remain open, but there are special signs there. However, local residents do not pay attention to them.”

Dwelling on recent escalations at the frontline, the official slammed Azeri policy of deliberately flaring the tensions, which, however, wasn’t successful.

“We have created conditions where strong-arm methods cannot be used against Armenia and Artsakh. The victories we gained during our struggle for Artsakh’s existence are being multiplied,” Ohanyan said, according to Tert.am.

As the Minister stressed further, Armenia is modernizing its military equipment. According to the official, Armenia’s arsenal includes has long-range and precise military equipment; also, the country struck deals to further enhance its military capacity.
