iPad Air, iPad Mini “to include Apple Pay, fingerprint scanner”September 30, 2014 - 14:32 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Apple's iPad Air and third-generation iPad Mini are likely to include Apple Pay and the Touch ID fingerprint scanner, Digital Spy reported. Evidence of their inclusion has apparently been discovered in the latest developer build of iOS 8.1, outed by programmer Hamza Sood. "Pay with iPad using Touch ID. With Apple Pay, you no longer need to type card numbers and shipping information," reads a string of code in the iOS 8 beta. This is the strongest evidence yet that Apple is planning to include a fingerprint scanner on its next iPads, although the feature has been rumoured since Touch ID debuted with the iPhone 5S. Apple Pay is not expected to be NFC-powered on the tablets, with the service working with Touch ID for in-app transactions. Apple is said to be holding an iPad unveiling next month, with rumours suggesting an October 21 launch date.
